HOMEMADE CINNAMON ROLLS
45 mins prepServes 12
Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls filling your kitchen! Made with Country Pride Baker's Flour, these homemade cinnamon rolls are finished with a rich, creamy cream cheese icing.
FOR THE DOUGH:
1. Combine all dry ingredients (4½ cups Country Pride Baker's Flour, ½ cup sugar, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp cinnamon powder) in a large bowl.
2. In a separate bowl, mix 1¼ cups lukewarm milk, 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp instant yeast. Allow the yeast to bloom.
3. Combine the yeast mixture with the remaining wet ingredients (½ cup melted butter, 1 large egg or 2 small eggs, 1 tsp vanilla).
4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
5. Knead for approximately 6 minutes until smooth. The dough should remain slightly tacky. Avoid adding too much flour while kneading for extra-soft cinnamon rolls.
6. Shape the dough into a ball, cover and allow to rise until doubled in size.
FOR THE FILLING & ROLLING:
7. Punch down the dough and roll it out to ¼-inch thickness.
8. Combine the filling ingredients (1 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon powder, ½ cup softened unsalted butter) and spread evenly over the dough.
9. Roll the dough tightly into a log, then slice into 1½-inch rounds and arrange in a baking dish.
BAKING:
10. Bake at 350°F for 30–45 minutes, until golden and fully baked.
FOR THE ICING:
11. While rolls cool, combine the icing ingredients (6 oz softened cream cheese, ½ cup softened unsalted butter, 1 cup powdered sugar) until smooth.
12. Allow the rolls to cool before frosting and serving.
