A rich and cheesy layered lasagna with a savory beef and tomato sauce, a creamy cheese sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta, baked until golden and bubbly.
1. Heat oil in a large pan and sauté finely chopped carrots, celery and onions until soft.
2. Add ground beef to the pan, break it up, and cook until browned.
3. Season the meat with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste, and cook for another minute.
5. Pour in crushed tomatoes and pasta sauce, stir to combine, and let the sauce simmer.
6. In a separate saucepan, melt butter. Pour in heavy cream and add shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Stir continuously until a smooth cheese sauce forms.
7. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain.
8. To assemble, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
9. Add a layer of cooked lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of cheese sauce, another layer of meat sauce, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
10. Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a final layer of meat sauce and a generous amount of shredded cheese on top.
11. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake until hot and bubbly.
12. Remove the foil for the last few minutes of baking to allow the cheese to brown.
13. Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped fresh parsley, slicing, and serving.
